I've been putting together a solution as well, it looks pretty close to yours actually!

I am trying to use a single CD matrix for all chips. Since there will have to be a different solution for both, it seems to make sense to have to change only one number instead of a full solution for each ccd.
The plate scale is very constant by design, and it simplifies things you want to do on the raw data greatly for the moment. Turns out that the theoretical plate scale - 5.9286 - is very close to your average CD value of about 5.925 (assuming e2v can make their pixel size exactly 15 micron down to 1 part in 2000).

We just took some astrometric calibration data to tie together AG, IA and SCI ccds with the ADC in.
I'll try to put them somewhere where you can get at them as well.
